Penn State Athletics Announces Food & Beverage Partnership With Oak View Group

Penn State Athletics has partnered with Oak View Group (OVG) in working with its food and beverage program across several athletic venues, it announced Tuesday.

OVG is a sports and commercial real estate company based in Denver that manages several arenas and venues across the country. Its hospitality division is partnering with Penn State Athletics, becoming its first food and beverage partner.

“The future of our food and beverage is exciting as we enter into this transformational partnership with OVG,” said Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Pat Kraft. “OVG is one of the great hospitality providers in the country and will bring a level of excellence to our expanded and enhanced food and beverage options at our facilities. We are also thrilled to have OVG leading the charge of our Performance Dining Center for our student-athletes when it opens in the Greenberg Indoor Sports Complex in the coming years.”

The multi-year partnership is focused on providing an improved fan experience with goals of increasing food and beverage personnel, expanding concession locations, and streamlining payment methods to reduce line wait times.

“We are excited to partner with one of the most respected and ambitious college athletics programs in the nation,” said Chris Granger, president of OVG360. “We look forward to collaborating with our partners at Penn State to set a new standard that will redefine the game day experience for Nittany Lion fans.”

Additionally, the partnership will provide expanded menu options across Penn State’s athletic facilities with changes coming as soon as this year.

Beaver Stadium, Pegula Ice Arena, Rec Hall, the Multi-Sport Facility and Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track, Jeffrey Field, Nittany Lion Softball Park, Panzer Stadium, the Field Hockey Complex, the Blue and White Golf Courses’ Nineteenth Hole Café, and Performance Dining at Greenberg Indoor Sports Complex will see the affects of the OVG partnership.

Along with the OVG partnership, Penn State will work with Green Operations & Advanced Leadership (GOAL). GOAL will work to quantify the university’s carbon footprint, identify opportunities for waste reduction and energy efficiency, and help align the facilities’ operational efforts with the university’s robust sustainability goals. In 2022, Penn State pledged to cut its total emissions by 55% before 2025 and to cut all emissions by 2035.

Recently, Penn State Athletics announced plans for its renovations to Beaver Stadium, which included work on its concession stands.
