Nick Singleton & Abdul Carter Named To Walter Camp Award Watch List

Penn State football running back Nick Singleton and defensive end Abdul Carter have been named to the Walter Camp Award Player of the Year watch list. The award recognizes the best player in college football annually.

Singleton, who was named to the Maxwell Award and Paul Hornung Award watch lists, is entering his third year with the Nittany Lions. Through his freshman and sophomore seasons, during which he’s been a consistent starter, Singleton has recorded 1,813 career rushing yards and 20 career rushing touchdowns.

Carter, who was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list , has recorded 104 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, three forced fumbles, an interception, and nine pass breakups as a linebacker. He’ll move to defensive end this season, though James Franklin said Carter will play some of both positions in 2024.

The Walter Camp Award will name 10 semifinalists in early November and three finalists on November 26. The winner will be announced live on ESPN on December 12, 2014.
