Bocca, a former ballet dancer, became part of the Compañía de Ballet de Cámara del Teatro Colón, before embarking on an major international career, including a stint with the American Ballet Theater as a soloist. He would eventually return to become part of the ensemble in the Buenos Aires theater. At age 18, he was a recipient of a Gold Medal at the V International Dance Competition in Moscow.
