Orange City Arts to host Chalk Art Competition

ORANGE CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Join Orange City’s colorful evening at the Chalk Art Competition!

The Chalk Art Competition will be transforming the sidewalk at Windmill Park into a museum of chalk art, according to a release. Artists of all ages and abilities will have the opportunity to transform the sidewalk with their chalk creations.

The event will be held on Aug. 21. Both individual artists and groups of up to four people are welcome to participate. Registration is required and free of charge.

Artists can work on their artwork from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the competition, Arts on Central, taking place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for best in show and people’s choice.

Attendees strolling through Windmill Park can vote for their favorite artworks, try their hand at chalk art themselves, and enjoy a day filled with music, delicious food, and fun activities for the whole family, according to the release.
