Don't get me wrong, they can afford to charge those prices due to high demand, but it's discouraging for those of us who love vintage glamor on a budget.
Luckily, estate sales are a great way to score vintage items without a major retail markup, and they're often the best places to find real hidden gems with tons of unique personality. If you're an estate sale addict, then you won't want to miss this big one, set to be held this upcoming weekend in a beautiful mid-century home in the Pacific Palisades.
There's a lot going on with this estate sale . As Quinn Fiona Garvey ( @vintageonq ) remarks, it feels more like a tribute to the family that once lived there. Held in the family's mid-century home, the former owners' personalities are evident in every detail, from the stylish decor and unique appliances meant for hosting large parties to the little things they collected that showed off their hobbies and interests. I won't even lie; I got choked up when I saw that wedding dress. This is a time capsule full of emotions and memories.
Obviously, the mid-century modern furniture up for grabs will be a big draw for buyers- just that massive blue couch looks to die for. If you're only going for the furniture, though, you're missing out. The vintage jewelry collection alone takes up over three tables, according to Quinn, and there's also tons of clothing covering three decades of fashion, with prices ranging anywhere from over $100 to just $10 per piece.
That's still only scratching the surface of what's available at this sprawling estate sale: dishware, glassware, art, magzines, children's toys, accessories, and needlepoint artwork . There are even items unique to the former owners like rare mementos and the wife's extensive shell collection. If I were anywhere near the Pacific Palisades this weekend, I'd gladly give that shell collection a new home! As Quinn says, this family had excellent taste, and these pieces look beautifully preserved. This place is a vintage treasure chest!

Quinn notes that this sale is being put on by Details Estate Sales, a company that advertises itself as the " #1 estate sale company in Orange County ." With more than two decades of experience, the company frequently puts on sales throughout the Los Angeles, Orange County , and Santa Barbara areas. This is merely their next upcoming event!
As detailed in Quinn's video, the sale is going on from 6/29 to 6/30, from 9 am to 3 pm both days. The home's address will be publicly released Saturday morning on their official website and on their Instagram, @detailsestatesales . Sadly, the Los Angeles area is a bit too far out of my way for me to drive this weekend, but if you happen to be in the area, why not stop by? There's thousands of incredible pieces inside waiting for someone to give them a new, loving home.
