    The Tea House on Los Rios

    Housed on the historic Los Rios Street in San Juan Capistrano, the quaint cottage holds years of history. Featuring four different high tea services, as well as separate lunch and weekend brunch options, The Tea House has something for everyone, including 46 different kinds of loose-leaf teas. The high tea options allow you to choose from simple to extravagant. The Royal Tea ($74) features a glass of Champagne, a pot of tea, six tea sandwiches, a scone, fresh fruit, a salad, and a trio of mini desserts. The simpler Garden Tea ($42) comes with tea sandwiches, a fresh pot of tea, tea sandwiches, a scone, and a duo of sweets to top off the experience.

    McKenna’s Tea Cottage

    Based in Old Town Seal Beach, Mckenna’s Tea Cottage brings you right to London with traditional English food and high tea services. Four service options each come with a pot of tea and a choice of sandwiches, scones, or both. There are over 50 teas to choose from, including classics such as Earl Grey as well as the unique McKenna’s Special Blend with elderberries, kiwi, and hibiscus flowers.

    Pamela’s Tea Room

    Featured on the menu are Pammy’s fresh pasties and pies for $19 each, as well as different varieties of fresh quiches for $18.50 each. For the high tea service, the three main services all come with a pot of tea and scones. The higher end versions come with sandwiches, and their “Quickie” comes with a pot of tea and two toasted crumpets for just $10. Pamela’s Tea Room also serves as the part time host of a tea mystery series run by Cup of Mystery Games and Tea on certain Thursdays during the summer. The event comes with tea, sandwiches, a scone, and a chance at solving the mystery of the day.

    Morning Lavender Cafe

    Morning Lavender offers a weekend tea service for $39 per person, which includes a pot of tea, a scone, four sandwiches, and three petite desserts. The kids’ version comes with two sandwiches and 2 desserts for $29. With 15 teas to choose from, including classics like Earl Grey and more unique flavors such as Peaches and Cream or Coconut Milk Green Tea. Morning Lavender also offers teas and coffees to go, as well as afternoon tea boxes to order ahead for takeout ($29). Check out their attached women’s clothing boutique.

    Spring Tea Garden

    The classic Spring Tea comes with five tea sandwiches, two desserts, a scone with jam and cream, and a fresh pot of tea for $33. The more sophisticated Royal Tea comes with all the same offerings, plus fruit salad, a garden salad, and a glass of Champagne ($45). Open Thursday through Sunday for walk-ins or reservations, Spring Tea Garden also hosts bridal and baby showers in rooms such as the Rose Ballroom or Carnation Hall.

    Knife Pleat

    The South Coast Plaza restaurant offers a high-end afternoon tea service every Saturday, featuring seven mini savory options including a Maine lobster eclair and ratatouille. Served on a tower, the tea service also comes with eight sweets including lemon cake, a cacao pod with New Guinea chocolate, and a cream puff with elderflower Chantilly. The $115 service includes a pot of freshly brewed tea from La Mason Du Thé with options from English Breakfast to Phoenix Jasmine Pearl. You can also add caviar to the menu, which comes with toasted brioche, pomme gaufrette, and French style scrambled eggs with chives ($150 to $380).
