LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County was unchanged Monday at $4.654, a day after dropping 1.5 cents. It dropped 11 of the past 13 days.

The average price is 8.5 cents less than one week ago, 14.1 cents less than one month ago and 31.9 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.84 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped four-tenths of a cent to $4.577, a day after dropping a half-cent. It is 7.8 cents less than one week ago, 12 cents less than one month ago and 32.2 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.882 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price was unchanged at $3.501, a day after it dropped three-tenths of a cent.

It is 2 cents less than one week ago, 5 cents more than one month ago, and 9 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.515 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.

"The arrival of summer used to signal the start of a robust driving season, but that has not been the case recently," AAA spokesperson Andrew Gross said last week. "We know that a record number of travelers were forecast to hit the highways for the July 4th holiday, but since then, they appear to be staying off the road, and the recent scorching heat is possibly to blame. Maybe things will pick up soon."
