A widespread computer outage has been throwing a wrench into business operations in Orange County, leaving customers frustrated and inconvenienced. At the Speedway gas station off Exit 84 in Maybrook, customers have been arriving only to find the pumps out of order and their cards not accepted. An employee reported that the night shift manager called the team shortly after midnight to inform them of the payment system failure. The outage appears to be station-wide, forcing them to accept cash only. Across the street at Advance Auto, the payment system is experiencing intermittent problems. While some credit card payments are going through, others are being rejected. Employees believe the issue might be related to customer banks, but they confirmed that the problem is systemwide. One customer described the frustration, saying, "It came up with an error message, so I called my manager saying something isn't right. He ended up saying it was every store. Every store was down, and it kept going in a loop." While the outage has primarily caused inconvenience, businesses are working to adapt. The gas station is accepting cash only, and the ATM inside remains operational. "
