Bridge City woman facing intox manslaughter charges in death of bicyclist early Friday in Bridge City
BRIDGE CITY, Texas — A 32-year-old Bridge CIty woman is behind bars on an intoxication manslaughter charge in connection with the death of a bicyclist early Friday morning. Britni Martin, 32, of Bridge City, is being held in the Orange County Jail on charges of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle and accident involving death, according to jail records. Her bond on the charges have not yet been set.

79-year-old Orange County man facing federal charges for kidnapping Beaumont attorney
BEAUMONT, Texas — A 79-year-old man from Orange has been charged in federal court with kidnapping a Beaumont attorney who defended him on kidnapping charges 40 years ago. Putnam Darwin Richardson, 79, of Orange, kidnapped Beaumont attorney Mel Shelander, 72, on Monday morning, according to a statement from his family.
Brent Coon & Associates files first lawsuits following railcar chemical release in Orange County
WEST ORANGE, Texas — Brent Coon & Associates law firm filed the first lawsuits following a railcar chemical release at Eagle Railcar Services in Orange County. According to a release, the firm included a "temporary restraining order" that was signed by District Court Judge Courtney Arkeen that will prevent anyone from "tampering with or destroying any evidence associated to the incident and provide access to professional inspections of the area and equipment involved."

The Orange County Office of Emergency Management says a railcar at the Eagle Rail site on Foreman Road was conducting a controlled flaring operation on Thursday and that was the source of a chemical odor that led to a shelter in place request for residents of West Orange, Bridge City, and Orangefield.
