Clovis Unified School Board votes to place $400 million bond measure on November ballot
Voters in the Clovis Unified School District will be asked to decide on a $400 million bond measure in November.The school board voted Wednesday night to place the measure on the ballot.The decision follows a recommendation last month by a citizens committee that studied the facility needs in the district.If approved, the proposal would fund updates to older schools, the completion of Clovis South High School, and improvements to school safety and energy efficiency.According to the district, those projects were expected to cost around $550 million.However, the committee prioritized the list to bring the number down to $400 million so that the current tax rate would not change if the bond is approved.
