Callahan’s Bistro Replacing Dee’s Music Bar and Grill

A brand new restaurant called Callahan’s Bistro is preparing to debut later this year in Orange Park , located at 2141 Loch Rane Blvd #140 .

The new eatery will sit at the end of The Park Shopping Mall next to the Pine Tree Plaza, according to a recently approved plan review application from the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. The exact opening date is still being determined, considering the owners were recently approved for new construction. Callahan’s Bistro will move into the former home of Dee’s Music Bar and Grill, which closed in 2022 after six years.

There were many reasons for the beloved music bar and restaurant to close, including the economy and family health issues. The restaurant officially closed on July 16, 2022, after inflation kept rising costs and the owner’s husband was waiting for a liver transplant. Now, a year and a half later, the space is finally being filled by Callahan’s Bistro. The exact type of food to be served has yet to be determined, but there will likely be a handful of sandwiches, salads, and other bistro-type meals.

When the new restaurant opens later this year, the owners will have no problems getting customers in its doors. Being next to two large shopping centers will bring in plenty of foot traffic from the other businesses. Both shopping centers are located off a popular Blanding Boulevard, which includes Orange Park Mall and Bolton Plaza Shopping Mall. On top of the various companies nearby, Callahan’s Bistro will find success by sitting across the street from Orange Park High School.
