Silverstein Secures Leases with Law Firm, Columbia University in Midtown
Silverstein Properties finalized two new lease signings at 1177 Ave. of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan. Law firm Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, a longtime tenant, will relocate within the building to occupy floors 41-43, totaling 42,394 square feet. The Trustees of Columbia University signed a 15,375-square-foot lease on the 34th floor at the building, moving its headquarters from 405 Lexington Ave.

Hosting 'Mamita' events that provide a safe space for pregnant and migrant mothers
Doulas En Espanol, a collective of about 20 Spanish-speaking doulas that provide free doula services to the Hispanic community in the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, hosted its sixth event at the CUNY Graduate Center on Friday for expecting and postpartum migrant mothers. The monthly event, called “Mamita” events, has been operating since January of 2024 and brings in dozens of migrant mothers from across New York City each month looking for a space to meet with other expecting or postpartum mothers, while also receiving free strollers, car seats, baby clothes and other postpartum items.
Zeckendorf, Atlas Capital nab $1B for luxury project on Hudson
Zeckendorf Development and Atlas Capital Group have secured a $1 billion loan to finance the project at 80 Clarkson Street, the New York Post reported. The loan, which may be Manhattan’s largest residential-construction loan since before the pandemic, was provided by London-based Cale Street Partners and San Francisco-based Farallon Capital Management. The financing was arranged by a Newmark team led by Jordan Roeschlaub.

An FBI raid of KSK Construction tied to NYC Mayor Eric Adams uncovered an illegal residential project in the East Village, Gothamist reported. KSK failed to obtain permits for the 12-story project at 280 East Houston St. to begin the above-ground work on the project.
