Temperatures back to the 80s Friday as Portland sees cloudy morning, sunny afternoon
Portland kicked off August on Thursday with a new daily high temperature record of 99 degrees. The former record was 98, set in 2015. Temperatures should cool at least a handful of degrees Friday as southerly winds have brought a modest push of marine air and clouds into the Willamette Valley, according to the National Weather Service. Clouds will be heaviest in the southern and central portions of the Willamette Valley.
