TRAFFIC ALERT: Firefighters responding to 18-wheeler fire in Gladewater
GLADEWATER, Texas — Smith County Emergency Service District 2 is responding to a possible 18-wheeler fire in Gladewater. Nikki Simmons with SCESD2 confirmed that firefighters are responding to an 18-wheeler truck fire on Hwy 271 and CR 3107. Officials said the truck could be seen with gray smoke coming from the front.

Women's Soccer Comes Up Short in Season Opener
WHEATON, Ill. -- The LeTourneau women's soccer team fell to Carroll in the season opener, 4-0, at the Bob Baptista Invitational at Wheaton College on Friday afternoon. Netminder Kelauna Cruz led the defensive effort with six saves in the match, with Gabriella Sanchez and Heather Shaw recording the lone shots for the Jackets offense. Clarissa Martinez was also an iron woman on the defensive side, being one of two non-keepers to play all 90 minutes.
LMFA Presents Blue Dog Exhibit in New Building
Longview Museum of Fine Arts (LMFA) is opening a new exhibition this fall, George Rodrigue: Painting for Myself. The show is the first in the former Longview National Bank building, now under renovations and operated by LMFA. Located at the corner of Fredonia and Methvin streets, the new space will be the largest fine arts museum in East Texas once completed.

OVERTON, Texas (KLTV) - The Alba-Golden Panthers won their opener on the road Friday night with a 17-12 win over Overton. At the half, Overton led Alba-Golden, 12-9. Overton took the lead with the first touchdown of the game in the first quarter when Jayden Edwards took a pass all the way to the end zone for a 6-0 lead.
Chapel Hill takes 56-20 win over Jasper
JASPER, Texas (KLTV) - The Chapel Hill Bulldogs got a 56-20 win on the road against Jasper on Friday. Chapel Hill got their second score of the night on a Demetrius Brisbon touchdown. Jasper responded when Raja Garza-Adams hooked up with Isaiah Coleman to bring the game within a score.
