Oregon City Together, a local community coalition focused on youth substance use prevention, announced the appointment of Michele Stroh as chairperson.

Stroh has served on Oregon City Together’s Fentanyl Awareness Workgroup for the past three years, sharing her family’s experience and message around fentanyl and other drugs. She is also a member of the Oregon City School Board.

“It is a great honor to be chosen as chairperson for Oregon City Together. I am excited to bring my passion for the wellbeing of our youth and community. I look forward to collaborating with others not only in our community but those around us, to unite our strengths and bring new ideas into discussion for drug prevention and education. By choosing to share the tragic loss of my son, I know we are making a positive impact in the future of those that listen to Keaton’s story," Stroh said in a press release Aug. 26.

Stroh is a local business owner, longtime supporter of Oregon City Together’s mission and goals, and mother of Keaton, a fentanyl poisoning victim.

“We are thrilled to welcome Michele Stroh in this new capacity," said Anne Haynes, coalition coordinator, in the release. "She is already a valued member of our fentanyl awareness efforts and we look forward to the ways in which our work together will expand our prevention efforts and fulfill our mission of creating healthy drug-free futures for all of our youth.”

Oregon City Together is the city’s only organization focusing solely on youth substance use prevention. The coalition meets once a month and is open to community members who would like to join in the effort to keep youth healthy and drug free.
