As of late July, four people had entered the race for two open seats on the City Commission.

Records from the city recorder’s office show that current City Commissioner Mike Mitchell will run for a full term after being appointed in 2022. Also in the race for the open seats — which are held by Mitchell and Frank O’Donnell — are Rae Gordon, Scott Wilson and Bob La Salle.

The filing deadline is Aug. 27.

Gordon is a local musician who works in marketing and has served on several Oregon City advisory committees. Wilson is a program manager and youth/family therapist at Parrott Creek Child and Family Services, and also works as mental health professional at Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center. La Salle is retired after a career working in the U.S. Army along with heating and air conditioning, and he has served on several local advisory committees. Mitchell, who is retired, was appointed to fill the remainder of Denyse McGriff’s term after she vacated her commissioner seat to become mayor.
