Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Kachka, a beautifully designed restaurant that offers a unique take on Russian cuisine. The dishes are distinctive, surpassing any Russian food I've tasted in LA. One of the highlights was the 7-layer potato salad, a dish I highly recommend.
The meal was an absolute delight, from the cabbage roll that reminded me of my great grandmother's cooking to the vareniki and the short rib borscht, each dish was a revelation of flavors. The borscht was unlike any I've ever tasted - perfectly salted and so flavorful. The happy hour specials allowed us to sample a variety of dishes, making the experience even more enjoyable.
The service at Kachka is commendable. The staff was attentive, offering recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. The atmosphere was social and vibrant, making it a great place for sharing a meal with friends or family. The restaurant also boasts a well-stocked bar with delicious drinks. I was initially skeptical about trying Eastern European cuisine, but Kachka has completely won me over. I can't wait to return next time I'm in Portland!
