Hey fellow foodies! I recently ventured into Pixiu Mala Hongtang PDX, a spot that's transformed from its previous Korean cuisine to a vibrant self-serve eatery. The concept? Pick your favorites from a variety of fresh ingredients, decide between a comforting soup or a sizzling dry pot, and get your bowl weighed. Yes, it's a tad on the pricey side, but the flavors are spot on!
I dove into a non-spicy soup and a mildly spicy dry pot, both hitting the right notes for my palate. The atmosphere is clean, bright, and the staff exudes friendliness, making you feel right at home. If you're a fan of spice, this place will not disappoint. The array of veggies, noodles, and toppings is impressive, and for the meat lovers, there's plenty to choose from, including bacon, shrimp, and more.
The experience is topped off with the food being cooked to perfection and seasoned just right before being served. And for those who like a little extra, the side dishes are a must-try – the Guobaorou was a standout for me. So, if you're in Portland and craving a hot pot experience that lets you be the master of your meal, Pixiu Mala Hongtang PDX is the place to be. Can't wait for my next visit!
