Stepping into Family Café feels like being wrapped in a warm embrace, thanks to its cozy atmosphere and the genuine hospitality of the couple running it. This charming little café, with its exotic Middle Eastern decor, offers a delightful culinary experience that resonates deeply, especially if you have Middle Eastern roots. The food here is not only fresh and tasty but also made right before your eyes, adding to the authenticity of each dish.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Iraqi chai, served in a traditional Samovar with all the trimmings, including sugar cubes and walnuts. It’s a unique tea experience that stands out from the usual English or Asian styles I’m accustomed to. The lamb dish was another delight, perfectly cooked and flavored, making it a memorable meal.
Family Café is more than just a place to eat; it’s a venue where you feel part of a family. The owners' kindness, particularly towards children, and their selection of quaint trinkets for sale, add to the charm of this small yet splendid café.
