If you're a fan of vibrant flavors and cozy dining experiences, Lil' Shalom is a must-visit spot that promises a delightful culinary journey. On my recent visit, I was immediately taken by the lively ambiance, complete with an open kitchen and a wood fire oven that fills the space with warmth and enticing aromas. The burnt beef ends hummus topped with pastrami and roasted jalapeño, served alongside freshly baked pita, was a standout dish that had me savoring every bite. The grilled octopus with smashed potatoes was equally impressive, offering a decadent taste that lingered pleasantly.
For those who prefer plant-based options, the Shalom Y’all Plate features some of the best falafel I've ever tasted, making it a great choice for vegetarians. The outdoor patio provided a fantastic setting to enjoy these dishes, especially the classic hummus and crispy fries that are perfect for sharing. Despite a minor hiccup with service at the walk-up counter, the quality of the food more than made up for it. The diverse menu also includes lamb shawarma and chicken schnitzel, both well-flavored and satisfying.
Lil' Shalom not only serves great food but also adheres to safety protocols, which adds an extra layer of comfort for indoor diners. Whether you choose to sit inside or in the heated outdoor booths, this restaurant is a gem within the Sesame Collective that you wouldn't want to miss. I'm already planning my next visit to try more of their exquisite offerings!
