The Dog Days of Summer are here. I, for one, am eating it up and making embarrassingly slow progress on my current goal of earning a tan. As it stands, I'm more on the Casper end of the bronzed spectrum.

While I could try self-tanner (or just take the less cautious heinous sunburn to tan pipeline), there are better ways to look like you've been outside, namely by visiting Mt. Hood, Oregon, home to Timberline Lodge, which is effectively the last ski North American ski resort standing. In my unrelenting search of ski clips, Timberline Lodge has, unsurprisingly, become a vital resource. Where else can you get the goods—and clips—during the Dog Days, high-altitude missions notwithstanding?

Timberline Lodge might kick off our weekly Keep Your Clips Up offering, but there's plenty more to love here, including epic pond skims, hectic wall rides, and, as usual, a little update from our friends down in South America.

    Kuura Koivisto Goes to Oregon

On Armada's athlete webpage, freeskier Kuura Koivisto is called the "Last Stylebender." It's an apt description. His latest Instagram upload, shot at Mt. Hood further proves that Koivisto approaches freeskiing from a distinct, flavorful angle. Add in some slushy landings, and you've got the perfect recipe for some satisfying—and likely jealousy-inducing—viewing.

    The Campers Are Killing It

Each summer, Windells Summer Ski Camp features a crowd of seasoned professional skiers during its Signature Sessions™. Unsurprisingly, all these pros shred. More surprising, though—and the highlight of this video from last week's ON3P Signature Session™—is the talent of the Windells campers. Let's just say it was a bad week to be rail out there on Mt. Hood.

A Pond Skim for the Books

Pond skimming is a contact sport. Water, allegedly, is supposed to break your fall. But when you're moving at, say, 40 miles per hour, water doesn't always hold up this end of the bargain. Anyone who's back-flopped while cliff-jumping can attest to this fact. Personally, I'd go as far as to say that I would rather fall on almost all types of snow—barring bulletproof ice—than a pond. Although the threat of whiplashing himself into next year did little to dissuade Filip Žáček, whose recently shared high-speed pond skim attempt is a sight to be seen.

    Joona Kangas Visits Nature’s Wallride

Speaking of skiing unconventional surfaces, this wall ride from Joona Kangas is video game-level riding at its finest. Mind the gap.

What Else is New in South America?

And now, the inevitable. South America still looks like it's skiing great. Given the sweltering heat many of us are enduring in North America right now—last Sunday, it was so hot in Las Vegas, Nevada, that you could melt Crayons just by putting them outside —it's difficult to conceptualize that somewhere in the world, someone's skiing fresh, mid-winter snow. That lucky someone in this case is Adrià Millan Pla. God, I've seen what you've done for others.
