OREGON, Wis. -- The Village of Oregon announced Thursday it will hold a childcare listening session to better understand the issues that local caregivers and parents face.

The village said the summit will brainstorm ideas, identify barriers, discuss potential collaborations, and work towards expanding and supporting childcare offerings in Oregon. During the listening session, childcare will be provided at the Oregon Public Library.

Despite the fact that the village government does not have control over state regulations and limited discretionary funds, the village said the listening session will aim to improve the lives of parents, caregivers, and children in various ways.

In order to prepare for the needs of attendees, the village said interested residents must pre-register online . The summit for daycare and childcare providers will be held on Aug. 8 from 6-7 p.m. The summit for parents will be held on Aug. 10 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
