Mennonites in Provo connect with community through doughnuts
PROVO — Provo may not seem like an obvious spot for a Mennonite congregation. Most Mennonites choose to settle in farming communities, said Rick Mast, who moved to Provo in 2017. "Our Mennonite community is not standard. It's not normal that we chose to come to the city," Mast...
Historic Northampton House reopens its doors
Many have seen the beautiful building that is the Northampton House. Elegant stained glass, a spacious interior and exquisite exterior grounds have served as the backdrop for many weddings and events throughout the decades. In recent years, the space required many repairs to keep its doors open. On July 10, the Northampton House reopened its historic doors to the city.
Days of '47 float preview party underway, with impressive creations on display
SANDY — Walking into the Days of '47 float preview party is like entering a school science fair, if all of the most competitive parents in the district took full control of the projects and got a little carried away. Between the polished cement and the high-hanging warehouse lights...

Introducing: Electronic Week at Provo Music Magazine
Here at Provo Music Magazine, we are (obviously, I hope) fans of all things local music. We’ve put our time in at venues like The Boardwalk and Velour Live Music Gallery listening to all manner of talented folk, indie, alt, rock, and acoustic acts. But Provo, Utah, and Mountain West music are more than folk, indie, and rock music. That’s why we make sure to cover stuff like classical and jazz too. We’d cover more, but unfortunately genres like EDM and hip-hop just don’t have a Utah scene …or do they?
Be a Little Bit Naughty at Lehi Art’s MATILDA
LEHI — Growing up, the books of Roald Dahl and the imagination behind them were very important in my household. Making a drive to Lehi to see Matilda the Musical at the Lehi Arts Council in Friday traffic may seem a bit crazy for a Northern Utahn, but since this is the year anniversary of my mother’s death and I have vivid memories of her reading the book to me, I take any opportunity I can to see the musical with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and a book by Dennis Kelly. The story follows young, brilliant Matilda, played the night I saw the show by Alicia Wright, as she struggles with the trauma of parents who do not love her, a principal who mistreats her, and powers that she cannot understand.
