Dean, watershed ecologist for the Clinton River Watershed Council, was on the hunt for crayfish during her Wednesday morning trip to Tenhave Woods nature preserve. Finding none wasn't necessarily bad — it meant the pond isn't overrun with red swamp crayfish, an aggressive invasive species that threatens to upend aquatic habitats in Michigan.
Four killed in wrong-way driver crash in Royal Oak
A wrong-way driver and three people in another vehicle were killed in a crash early Sunday in Royal Oak, according to a tweet from the Michigan State Police Second District. The incident happened around 2:50 a.m. Sunday when the Detroit Regional Communication Center received calls about a wrong-way driver in a black Volkswagen driving north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near 11 Mile Road.

The Warren City Council has laid down new ground rules for audience participation during its meetings and among the changes: No swearing and no personal attacks.
