Gratiot Avenue resurfacing project to begin in Casco Township
A portion of Gratiot Avenue in Casco Township will be reduced to one lane of traffic starting Monday for a resurfacing project. Construction is expected to be underway for 30 days on Gratiot Avenue from County Line Road to Division Road, on the border of Richmond. Work includes asphalt pavement removal, cold milling, concrete rubblizing, new aggregate base and repaving roadway with asphalt.

Birmingham police officers were summoned to the 800 block of Forest Avenue on Tuesday, July 9, after a patient was accused of assaulting a dental assistant. The victim, a 25-year-old female dental assistant from Oxford, was hit with a water bottle by a 62-year-old female patient. The incident occurred when the patient grew upset, got out of the dental chair and threw a water bottle at the dental assistant while walking out of the treatment room.
