California Highway Patrol Recovers $46k Worth of Stolen Blackstone Griddles in Sacramento Warehouse
California's roads are safer today thanks to the hawk-eyed investigators of the California Highway Patrol's Golden Gate Division Cargo Theft Interdiction Program (CTIP). In a case of a cunning heist, these investigators have managed to snatch back a hefty loot of Blackstone griddles reportedly valued at over $46,000. The culprits had orchestrated what's known in the trade as a "fictitious pick-up", as per a CHP Golden Gate Facebook Post.
[ UPDATE 6:45 p.m.] Grade Fire Breaks Out East of Hopland, Threatens Multiple Structures
A vegetation fire, dubbed the Grade Fire, has ignited east of Hopland along State Route 175. Traffic is backing up and CDF has requested closure. The blaze started on the 8400 block of Highway 175 and according to the Incident Commander is one acre in size and threatening multiple structures. The fire is described as growing at a moderate rate of spread having a moderate potential to grow in size. Both air and ground firefighting resources are converging on the area.
Oroville temporarily bans the use of all fireworks
OROVILLE, Calif. - The city of Oroville has temporarily banned the use of all fireworks within city limits, including the Safe and Sane variety, due to the Thompson Fire. The city of Oroville said firework vendors are encouraged to cease the sale of Safe and Sane fireworks immediately. Vendors who continue to sell Safe and Sane fireworks must post the Emergency Regulation prominently at the point of sale and must provide a copy of the Emergency Regulation to all customers purchasing fireworks.
Dangerous conditions prompt Northstate fireworks show cancellations
RED BLUFF— Amidst a string of cancellations, the 4th of July Fireworks Show in Red Bluff was still scheduled to happen as of Wednesday afternoon. The show will begin at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, with fireworks set off at the Red Bluff Elks Lodge. The Red Bluff Fireworks Committee said the best viewing location is River Park.
