Man accused of murdering 13-year-old Florida girl on Fourth of July

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A man has been arrested after a 13-year-old was found dead on the Fourth of July in Orlando, NBC affiliate WESH reports .

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said it arrested 28-year-old Jerry Loreeson Dorisme and charged him with first-degree felony murder.

WESH reports the victim, Rose Thalie Dieujuste, was found unresponsive with signs of trauma on the holiday. She was rushed to the hospital where she died from her injuries.

Deputies told WESH they located Dorisme thanks to help from the community after releasing a video showing a suspect leaving the parking lot where the girl was found.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office will hold a news conference Friday at 10 a.m. to provide details on the case.
