When heading out for your upcoming Florida theme park trip, the last thing you want to do is be caught off guard by prices. Especially before you even get into the park.

From Orlando's Walt Disney World to Tampa's Busch Gardens, most amusement parks require a fee for parking as to manage availability and cover costs of maintaining the lots.

Here's what to know about parking fees before arriving at any of Florida's main amusement parks.

    Disney World

The rate depends on your vehicle type, but each theme park lot charges the same rate per day. The fees are nonrefundable and do not guarantee parking availability if you leave and return to the same theme park later in the day or if you visit a different theme park.

According to its website , the rates for Disney World's parks are:

    • Standard parking: car or motorcycle – $30 per day
    • Preferred parking: car or motorcycle – $45, $50 or $55 per day
    • Oversized Vehicle Parking: Shuttle, Limo, Camper Trailer, RV, Bus or Tractor Trailer - $35 per day

Keep in mind, park reservations are no longer required for date-based tickets, such as 1-day tickets, multi-day tickets, and vacation packages. However, reservations may still be required for other types of admission, including annual passes and military salute tickets.

    Universal Studios

Universal Studios Orlando has two main parking garages for park guests, located at 6000 Universal Boulevard in Orlando. Vehicles can leave the garage and return the same day by stopping at the toll plaza upon re-entry and presenting their parking ticket.

According to its website , the rates for Universal Orlando's parks are seasonal and may vary by day:

    • Regular Parking: $32
    • Prime Parking: $50 to $60
    • Prime Upgrade: $18 to $28
    • RV/Bus Parking: $42

The website does note they offer free Regular Parking for matinee movie showings from 11 a.m. through 6 p.m. with purchase of two or more Universal Cinemark matinee tickets. They also allow free parking after 12 a.m. during the Halloween Horror Nights event.

SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
