An Apopka High School student was arrested Friday after making an online threat against the school, according to a press release from the Apopka Police Department.

The 15-year-old male student made threats against the school in the chat of a livestreamed school pep rally around 7 a.m., according to the release. The student was not on campus Friday and the FBI helped with the investigation.

He was arrested on charges of written or electronic threats to kill, cause bodily injury, or conduct a mass shooting or act of terrorism and disruption of a school function. No other information was included in the release.

The incident is the latest in a wave of school shooting threats across Florida and nationwide. A 15-year-old male high school student in Sanford was arrested last week for threatening to become a school shooter, according to police.
