List of Orlando Sentinel’s endorsements, recommendations for 2024 general election

By Orlando Sentinel Editorial Board, Orlando Sentinel,

Every election cycle brings the same prediction: This race, politicians solemnly vow, is the most important of our lifetime.

But this time? Yes, it really might be. The contrast between presidential candidates could not be more stark, and the margin of control in Congress is razor-thin. At the state level, the challenge is to wrest some small margin of control away from Republicans under the spell of Gov. Ron DeSantis. Many county and city races have the issue of growth management at their hearts, and the choices voters make could alter their local landscapes forever.

Right now, we’re conducting candidate interviews and posting our endorsements. As always, however, we encourage our readers not to rely solely on our opinions when marking their ballots. Among the other resources: Candidates’ social media accounts and official websites, local in-person forums and debates and of course, the Sentinel’s excellent campaign coverage.

Editorial: November’s not that far away — and we’ll be endorsing in dozens more races

We also urge readers to weigh in with their own opinions. Here’s how to do that:

Editorial: Weigh in — or mouth off — on campaigns by writing letters to the editor

We’ll start with a note to readers: The Orlando Sentinel’s Editorial Board is no longer endorsing candidates in races for president or U.S. Senate, including this year’s races. This is a company-wide decision and very limited in scope. It applies only to endorsements in those races. It applies only to endorsements in those races.

With that said, here’s a list of our endorsements so far, one we’ll update every day with new recommendations. You can also find the list at orlandosentinel.com/endorsements .
