Give Kids the World Village sets holiday gala

Give Kids the World Village will host a holiday soiree that will serve as a fundraiser for the nonprofit resort.  The Nov. 9 gala-style event will have a “vintage holiday twist,” organizers say.

The evening provides a rare peek inside the whimsical Kissimmee resort, which provides free weeklong vacations to children with critical illnesses and their families. It annually grants wishes to about 8,500 families, who stay in one of its 166 villas, and their stays frequently include theme park outings.

Event activities will include a plated dinner, live entertainment, auctions, a DJ dance party and holiday decor and “millions of glittering lights,” a news release says.

An individual ticket is $500. A table that seats 10 is $5,000. A premium table, which comes with benefits such as a VIP reception and location in the premium seating section, goes for $10,000.

Additional upcoming fundraising opportunities for the village include the Gingerbread Run Under the Lights, holiday VIP tours with Give Kids the World president and CEO Pamela Landwirth, Ice Cream for Breakfast with Santa and the Holiday Party With a Purpose program.
