Aoife O’Donovan plays with the Orlando Phil
Orlando orchestral folk chanteuse Aoife O’Donovan at last plays a proper Orlando gig — two gigs, in fact.

Yes, the Grammy-winning O’Donovan performs a two-night stand at the Steinmetz this weekend with the Orlando Philharmonic.

O’Donovan will perform selections from her latest album, All My Friends
, which was inspired by the women’s suffrage movement, flanked by the orchestra — songs previously only heard live locally during a solo in-store performance at Park Ave CDs.

After, the Orlando Phil will perform Dvorak’s “Symphony No. 8.” It’ll be one to weep at, amid a week of tears.

7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, Steinmetz Hall, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, 445 S. Magnolia Ave., drphillipscenter.org, $20-$130.
