The University of Central Florida, and multiple other universities across the state, announced admission application deadline extensions due to the impact from hurricanes Helene and Milton in recent weeks.

“We recognize Hurricane Helene has had a destructive impact on many communities across the southeast,” UCF says on its website
. Added disruption from Hurricane Milton may continue to impede students’ ability to apply on time, UCF says.

“UCF is extending the Early Action application deadline to Tuesday, Oct. 22nd,” the announcement reads.

Material submissions for early-action students are due Nov. 1. Regular decision applications for UCF remain due Mar. 1 for summer applicants and May 1 for fall applicants.

Students with any concerns regarding applications are encouraged to email UCF admissions or call 407-823-3000.

Florida State University and Florida Atlantic University also extended their early-action application deadlines, both to Nov. 1. The University of Florida’s early action deadline was Nov. 1 before the hurricanes hit.

Resources are available for victims of Hurricane Milton and Helene through the
United Way of Central Florida , FEMA and the Florida Education Association . More resources can be found in our roundup of Orlando-area hurricane resources .
