Universal plans to fully open its new theme park Epic Universe as early as Memorial Day weekend of next year, according to reporting by the Wall Street Journal .

Universal has not confirmed an opening date, but the
Journal reported Tuesday that people familiar with the matter said the new 750-acre park would be open before the end of May 2025, which is earlier than expected. The Journal stated tickets could go on sale as early as this month.

Though the timing could change, this tentative date would provide Universal the opportunity to take advantage of the full summer vacation season in 2025. In the early stages of opening, the company plans to require visitors to purchase multi-day passes to go to Epic Universe. Ticket holders would only be able to spend one of the days at the new park.

The new Epic Universe park will consist of five different worlds
that include various themed rides and restaurants. All will be accessible through portals located at a hub near the entrance area of the park, which contains the enchanting world of Celestial Park.

Additional lands within Epic Universe include the Ministry of Magic from the acclaimed Harry Potter films, Super Nintendo World derived from the popular video game franchise, the Isle of Berk from How to Train Your Dragon and Dark Universe, which features Universal’s classic mythical monsters lurking in the shadows.

The area will also include three high-end experience hotels : the Universal Helios Grand Hotel in the park itself, plus the Stella Nova and Terra Luna Resorts. Two of these are scheduled to open even earlier than the park, set for January and February of next year.

Epic Universe will be Orlando's first major theme park to open in 20 years . The construction of the park was first announced at a press conference in 2019.

A preview center of the park is currently on display at Universal CityWalk . To learn more about Epic Universe and stay up to date on its opening, visit Universal's website .
