Universal Orlando reveals opening date for Epic Universe with tickets available soon

Summer 2025 might just be … epic.

After years of development and construction, Orlando’s newest theme park has an opening date. After a report by the Wall Street Journal this week stated the park could open as early as Memorial Day 2025, Universal Orlando officially confirmed its Epic Universe park will open on May 22, 2025.

Vacation packages and hotel reservations go on sale on Oct. 22 — a full seven months before the park’s portals open. Annual passholders get an early opportunity to buy single-day tickets to Epic Universe on Oct. 24.

Five immersive worlds come to life inside Epic Universe, Universal’s fourth park in Orlando. Towering portals will transport guests to Super Nintendo World, Ministries of Magic in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the monster-filled Dark Universe, an island of dragons inspired by How to Train Your Dragon and a futuristic steampunk realm known as Celestial Park.

“This is such a pivotal moment for our destination, and we’re thrilled to welcome guests to Epic Universe next year,” said Karen Irwin, president and COO of Universal Orlando Resort, in a press statement. “With the addition of this spectacular new theme park, our guests will embark on an unforgettable vacation experience with a week’s worth of thrills that will be nothing short of epic!”

The new park also brings three new hotels to Orlando — the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews Hotel, and the twin Terra Nova and Stella Luna resorts. The Helios Grand is an anchor hotel with a dedicated entrance into Epic Universe.

More vacation packages and single-day tickets will be available in the coming months, but here’s what goes on sale next week:

Multi-day tickets with one-day admission to Epic Universe

• Three-day, four-day or five-day tickets: Includes one-day admission to Epic Universe and admission to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure for the other days of your vacation.

Create your own vacation package

• Save up to $200 with a seven-night package that includes a five-day ticket (one day at Epic Universe; the other four days at the Studios and IOA).
• Seven-night stay at one of Universal’s 11 hotels.
• Early park admission for Epic Universe, Volcano Bay and either Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure up to one hour before the park opens.

More information about Epic Universe and ticket options is on the way, but theme park devotees can get a taste of the new park at the Preview Center in Universal CityWalk.

Over the last eight months, Universal has revealed artist renderings and teases of the rides, attractions and immersive theming under construction at Epic Universe – first announced in 2019. All five worlds, three hotels and more have been revealed, and sites like Orlando Park Stop and Bioreconstruct on Twitter have shared construction photos and ride-permitting updates almost every week.
