NEK Broadband and CVFiber Hold Q & A Session About Merger Proposal
NEWPORT CITY- A proposal to merge NEK Broadband and CVFiber is gaining traction, and the entities hosted a public meeting via Zoom last Tuesday to answer questions about the reasons and benefits of a merger. CVFiber serves 20 communities in north central Vermont while NEK Broadband's service territory covers the three counties of Essex, Caledonia and Orleans. Police look for driver who crashed car into pond in Lowell
LOWELL, Vt. — Vermont State Police are looking for a driver who crashed their vehicle into a pond in Orleans County on Tuesday. Investigators said the crash happened just before noon on state Route 100 in Lowell near Stephenson Road. According to police, the driver of a 1996 Ford Mustang lost control of their vehicle and drove it into a nearby pond.
New Hampshire Man Sentenced for Northeast Kingdom Drug Conspiracy
Burlington, Vermont – The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont stated that on June 24, 2024, Jeremy Allin, 54, of Lancaster, New Hampshire was sentenced by United States District Judge Christina Reiss to a term of 14 months’ imprisonment to be followed by a 3-year term of supervised release. Allin previously pleaded guilty to conspiring with others to distribute fentanyl and cocaine base pursuant to a plea agreement with the United States.
