Crack open the menu at Vincent’s Italian Cuisine and you can see a restaurateur’s dilemma. There are enough dishes to supply two different restaurants. Then there’s a page of daily specials, with enough variety to field yet another restaurant. Vincent’s has been around for 35 years, and...
Rashid Shaheed's 51-yard game-winning catch is the Saints Play of the Day
We’re now at 51 days until the New Orleans Saints season opener, which makes Rashid Shaheed’s 51-yard game sealing reception against the Indianapolis Colts our Saints Play of the Day. Shaheed solidified a career day with his third and final catch, ultimately hauling in three passes (all of which went over 40 yards) for 151 yards and a touchdown. A little reminiscent of Randy Moss’s Thanksgiving Day performance back in 1998.
Demario Davis ranked a top-50 player by Pro Football Network
Pro Football Network released their top-100 players of 2024 list, and New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis cracked the top half of that list. The veteran was the third linebacker on the list only behind San Francisco 49er Fred Warner and Baltimore Ravens Roquan Smith. This is extremely high praise for the veteran. If you isolate it by position, Davis would rank higher on this list than ESPN’s recent top-10 rankings. Here’s why PFN’s Dallas Robinson is so high on him: While he’s entering his age-35 campaign, Davis is still among the most productive linebackers in the league. He’s received a first-...

Countdown to Kickoff: Khalen Saunders is the Saints Player of Day 50
Khalen Saunders is wearing a new jersey number in 2024. He’s the New Orleans Saints Player of Day 50 in our countdown to kickoff in Week 1’s matchup with the Carolina Panthers. Saunders wore No. 99 last year, his first season with the Saints, but he’s switching to No. 50 since Chase Young joined the team and took it from him.
Tyrann Mathieu, Demario Davis make the NFL 30 over 30 list
A group of NFL.com writers came together to compile and rank the league’s 30 best players over the age of 30, and both Demario Davis and Tyrann Mathieu represented the New Orleans Saints on that list. The veterans were only separated by three spots. Davis came in at No. 21 and Mathieu wasn’t far behind at No. 24. Davis has been a common appearance on rankings lately. His ability to impact the quarterback by applying pressure has been the recurring theme. But NFL.com’s Dan Parr took a different route to highlight his strengths: Davis obviously knows how to blitz into the backfield to make...

In the 2023 offseason, the New Orleans Saints and New York Jets both needed a quarterback, and both wanted Derek Carr. Carr clearly chose to come to the Crescent City, and he recalled a past conversation with Jets coach Robert Saleh during an appearance on the “Pardon My Take” podcast. He says Saleh told Carr the Jets would love to have him. Carr considered it but decided it wasn’t the right time to make a decision, because he still had to visit multiple other teams.
