Transformer and Cell Tower Fires in Grand Island Trigger Blackout for 10,000 Homes, Emergency Crews Respond
Firefighters from Lake County Fire Rescue and officials from Duke Energy rapidly responded to a transformer fire in Grand Island Sunday evening, an incident that led to a power outage affecting nearly 10,000 homes. An additional fire at a nearby cell phone tower further complicated the emergency services' response.
