Missouri Southern gifts New Heights Christian Academy several classrooms
JOPLIN, Mo. — A Joplin school now has several additional classrooms, thanks to a generous donation. Missouri Southern State University is giving a classroom annex to New Heights Christian Academy. It’s made up of 13 trailers, which housed classes during the construction of the science building. MSSU didn’t need them anymore, so it is passing them on to New Heights, which could use the space to grow.

Junior All-Stars win state title
The NW MO Little League All-Stars Juniors Division won the state championship this weekend in Concordia. They defeated Joplin to earn the title and the chance to go to the Regional Tournament, July 22-27, in Midland, MI where they will face teams from Ohio, Nebraska, Kentucky, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana and Illinois. They previously won the district championship on July 1 by beating the Harrison County All-Stars.
