(WIBW) - A name beloved in the Topeka and Northeast Kansas community will soon be etched in the history book forever. “I got the call a few weeks ago from Jim Dunning and I wasn’t expecting it. It was, a pleasant surprise for sure. I didn’t know how all the criteria worked. I didn’t even know if I was eligible, I didn’t know if I was good enough, all that stuff,” Turgeon said with a smile. “It was great and I told my wife about it right after but I kept it quiet for a while and finally let people know. I have so much love for the state of Kansas, growing up there, playing at Hayden playing at KU and coaching at Wichita State. It’s a great honor to go into this Hall of Fame.”
