Wisconsin football's big fourth quarter secures season-opening win
The University of Wisconsin football team opens Year 2 of the Luke Fickell era on the right foot. The Badgers went 7-6 in Fickell's debut campaign and drew a Friday night time slot as they host Western Michigan at 8 p.m. Fickell joined the Badgers after a six-season campaign at Cincinnati that had a climax of a College Football Playoff berth in 2021, when it was a four-team event. But there's hope for the Badgers because Fickell went 4-8 in his first season with the Bearcats before back-to-back 11-win seasons.

What Happened in Parchment, Michigan Last Night?
I thought this year was going to be different. Silly me! I actually was optimistic for the new school year and assumed the troubles of last school year would be all but forgotten. Unfortunately, that doesn't appear to be the case. I work minutes away from Parchment, Michigan and my...
Wisconsin Badgers: Linebacker Aaron Witt Makes Game-Sealing Stop 5 Days After Losing His Mom
The Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Western Michigan Broncos by the score of 28-14 on Friday night. The victory in their season opener, however, did little to quell the concerns that fans have had about the team for months. The passing offense, long promised to be similar to the one Phil Longo ran at North Carolina with Drake Maye as his quarterback, once again failed to look anything like the dynamic passing attack fans were expecting.

Last week, a dramatic chase unfolded in Van Buren County when Toby Farley, a 39-year-old man from Bangor Township, led deputies on a nine-minute pursuit through challenging terrain, including woods and water. The incident began when deputies attempted to arrest Farley, who was wanted on multiple charges, including possession of...
A Western Michigan cornerback actually leapfrogged over an unsuspecting referee
I’m not sure what Western Michigan cornerback Nyquann Washington was thinking here … or, frankly, what the referee must have thought. But now we have this amazing college football moment from Friday night that everyone’s buzzing about. With Wisconsin scoring in the fourth quarter in the Badgers’...
Badgers snap counts vs. Western Michigan in Week 1: Offense
The Wisconsin Badgers opened their season with a too-close-for-comfort 28-14 victory over Lance Taylor and the Western Michigan Broncos on Friday night at Camp Randall Stadium. “It was a test, it was definitely a test... that game came down to the fourth quarter... you got to find a way to...
Instant reaction to the Badgers 28-14 win over Western Michigan
The Wisconsin Badgers started off their season with a 28-14 victory over the Western Michigan Broncos in a game that was competitive from start to finish, despite the former being a 24-point favorite over the latter prior to the game. Offensively, the Badgers didn’t develop much of a downfield passing...
Western Michigan DB leapfrogs official mid play during season opener vs. Wisconsin
Western Michigan’s defense was playing a game within the game at one point against Wisconsin. Unfortunately, it didn’t stop the Broncos from falling apart in the 4th quarter as the Badgers rallied for a 28-14 win. Heading into Friday’s season opener, Wisconsin was a 24.5-point favorite at home,...

Kalamazoo Valley Muesum Scores Historic Acquistion
I can remember being in elementary school and going to the Kalamazoo Valley Muesum every year, although it was a "basic" field trip it was always fun and intriguing. One of my favorite exhibits of all time is the mummy exhibit even though it used to give me the creeps and goosebumps when I was younger. It was always fascinating to think about the preservation of the body during mummification.
Unruly Behavior At Parchment Vs. Comstock Football Game Sparks Concern
As a concerned parent, it's disheartening to see other parents setting a bad example for our students at high school events. Thursday night's altercation at the Parchment football game against Comstock is a prime example of behavior that shouldn't be tolerated. The district has commended the swift actions of school...
