School supplies, health services available at Saline County Back to School Fair
As the school year inches closer, a program to make sure students get school supplies is back, and this time it's added a new service. The annual Saline County Back to School Fair is happening from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at the Salina Central High School gym, 650 E. Crawford St.

One More Day of Heat Wave
The heat wave will last one more day before we get a break in the high temperatures. A heat advisory will be in effect for southeast Kansas, most of Oklahoma, southern Missouri and all of Arkansas today. The advisories start between 11 and 1 p.m. and will last until 8 p.m. Coffeyville is expected to see a high of 99 with a heat index up to 109 today.

Nebraska girls club soccer team wins national championship
WICHITA, Kan. - Nebraska Select 18G won the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup on Tuesday, in Wichita, Kan. Select is the only year-round competitive soccer program for high school-aged boys and girls west of Lincoln. The team led by former UNK soccer head coach Mike Munch went undefeated in pool play to earn the #1 seed for bracket play. Select defeated 1776 United (PA) 6-2 in the semifinals on Monday morning to advance to the championship where they defeated Lakeshore United FC (WI) 4-1.
