Rochester, Minn., plans extensive geothermal network
The city of Rochester, Minn., home of the famed Mayo Clinic, is going big on geothermal networks. The city is constructing Thermal Energy Networks (TENs) that consist of ambient pipe loops connecting multiple buildings and delivering thermal heating and cooling energy via water-source heat pumps. A groundwater-based system with a heat exchanger installed into the aquifer feeds into a closed loop that connects to buildings’ HVAC systems.

Thanks to Minnesota's warm and wet summer, the opportunities seem endless for foragers, with mushrooms flourishing under the weather conditions. While some mushrooms are safe to eat, other wild mushrooms can be deadly. "We've seen a lot more mushroom exposures," said Dr. Lesley Pepin, the Associate Medical Director at the Minnesota Regional Poison Center.
