City Of Fulton Creates “Lakefront Weekends:” Barrett Drive In Fulton To Be Closed On Weekends To Allow Safer Lakeside Walking, Biking And Rollerblading
FULTON – The city of Fulton announces Lakefront Weekends, which aims to fill Cpl. C. W. Barrett Drive with walkers, joggers, families and others enjoying safe activities along the beautiful Lake Neatahwanta shoreline. Lakefront Weekends begin Friday, June 28. The short stretch along Barrett Drive will be closed to vehicles from Friday evenings to Monday mornings for 6 weeks. Barrett Drive is the only part of the 2.2 mile lakeshore trail that is open to vehicles.

OSWEGO – June 21, 2024, Michael A. Benson, 74; of Oswego, NY; passed unexpectedly at home Friday, June 21, 2024. He was born in Concord, NH to the late Royal D. and Jacquelyn (Scott) Benson. He has been a resident of Oswego, NY since 1980. Mr. Benson was a United States Veteran having served in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1980. Michael worked for James A. Fitzpatrick Nuclear Power Plant as a Quality Control Inspector. He enjoyed restoring antique cars, riding motorcycles and he loved to cook.

Oswego Police – Attempted Murder Arrest
OSWEGO – On June 23, 2024, at about 2:06AM, the Oswego Police Department (OPD) was dispatched to 49 W Bridge St, The Sting, for a report of a fight in progress with gunshots being heard. Upon arrival, officers were advised there was a verbal and physical dispute outside of the bar between a male and female. It was reported from witnesses in the area, that as the confrontation escalated, a female fired multiple shots from a handgun with at least one of those rounds striking a male. Officers located a male who had an injury consistent with a gunshot wound on a lower extremity. The male was transported to the Oswego Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The alleged shooter was not on scene.
