Deborah Sue Lampman
FULTON – February 19, 2024, Deborah Sue Lampman, 74, of Phoenix passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born October 21, 1949 in Amsterdam, New York to Charles and Geraldine Goldy. Deb was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School, Class of 1967 in Amsterdam. She attended Fulton Montgomery Community College and earned an Associate’s degree in Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse specializing in Geriatrics and was employed by several healthcare facilities in Central New York until her retirement in 2011. Deborah loved her country and was extremely patriotic having served in the U.S. Navy. She was instrumental in establishing the Salt City Blues which is the U.S. Naval Reserve Women’s branch of WAVES (Women’s Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) in Central New York. She owned a Curves franchise in Phoenix from 2002 until 2005 which created many relationships within the community. Deborah was a fantastic cook and an avid crafter.

Oswego County Federal Credit Union’s ‘Love Out Loud’ Initiative Spreads Positivity Across Local Communitie
OSWEGO, NY, February 20, 2024- On February 10, Oswego County Federal Credit Union (OCFCU) participated in its second Love Out Loud initiative, a community-focused program aimed at spreading love, positivity, and kindness throughout Oswego, NY, Fulton, NY, Mexico, NY, and Phoenix, NY. The initiative, launched in the summer of 2023, involved each of the credit union’s branches engaging in acts of kindness.
USA Today Again Names International Taste Festival One Of The Nation’s Best Food Festivals
SYRACUSE, NY – For the second year in a row, USA Today has named Syracuse’s International Taste Festival one of the nation’s best city food festivals. Public voting for this year’s nominees is underway here through Monday, March 18 at noon. In 2023, the festival finished public voting 8th from among 20 nominees chosen by a panel of the publication’s editors along with experts in the field, alongside festivals in Denver, Dallas, Philadelphia and Buffalo. The festival returns Saturday, April 6 to the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

FULTON – February 17, 2024, Christina Shattuck, 76; of Fulton passed away peacefully at Oswego Hospital surrounded by family. She was born in New Brunswick, Canada to the late Luther Gravely and Christina Helpert. Mrs. Shattuck has been a resident of Fulton since 1977. She retired from Hutamaki, Fulton where she had been employed for 34 years. Mrs. Shattuck loved to play BINGO.

OSWEGO, NY – Zonta Club of Oswego presented Oswego County Opportunity (OCO) Services to Aid Families (SAF) Program with a check for $5,000 in support of its work to raise awareness of domestic violence in Oswego County and provide services to survivors of domestic abuse. Thompson Retires After Over 30 Years With Oswego County
OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Legislature’s Health Committee presented Tammy Thompson with a certificate of appreciation for her 32 years of service. Thompson retires as the Oswego County Director of Programs for Children with Special Needs, having overseen the Early Intervention/Child Find, Pre-school Special Education and Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs programs. She has served on numerous boards and advisory councils in the community and has received multiple awards throughout her career, including Alzheimer’s Association of CNY Volunteer of the Year, Leadership Oswego County Distinguished Alumni Award and more.
