Fulton Sunrise Rotary Hears From Fulton Garden Club
FULTON – Fulton Sunrise Rotary recently enjoyed a program presented by Jim Farfaglia about the Fulton Garden Club. Jim talked about the long history of many garden clubs that served to beautify our city over the decades. One of the first groups was formed shortly after World War II as folks were able to refocus on their local area rather than global issues. When one garden club would close another likely popped up within a couple of years. There were different clubs established in 1950, 1953, 1975. The 1953 group even established a Junior Garden Club and the 1976 club presented educational programs and took road trips to visit other gardens for inspiration. The beautiful box gardens many remember that graced the entrances to our city were cared for by the club established in 1986.
