Theresa A. Orr, 84; of Oswego, NY passed away at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney, NY after a long illness. Theresa was born in Altoona, PA to the late Paul Koons and Gertrude (Trexler) and her stepfather: Paul Maloney. She has been a resident of Oswego for most of her life. Theresa worked as a private housekeeper for several local families. She was an immaculate housekeeper for those she served and for her own family at home. Theresa enjoyed golfing and she was a member at the Tamarack Golf Club, Oswego. She also enjoyed cooking, playing cards, dice games and watching car racing.

Hannibal Dollars for Scholars awards
The Hannibal Chapter of Dollars for Scholars has announced its 2024 scholarship awardees. Dollars for Scholars is a subsidiary of Scholarship America. All money raised is used to provide scholarships to graduating seniors from Hannibal High School. The Hannibal chapter raises money through various fund raising activities, the most recent being a raffle for a gas card, and donations from local businesses, alumni and friends. The Country Cruizers Car Club and Sterling Stage have been sponsoring scholarships for a number of years. Donations are welcome and can be made with a credit card on the Chapter website or checks can be sent to Hannibal Dollars for Scholars, PO Box 71, Hannibal 13074.

FULTON – June 9, 2024, Carol J. Coe, 92, of Fulton passed away peacefully Sunday, June 9, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Carol was born in Fulton on March 2, 1932 to Doris and Grove E. Seymour, Sr. She was a graduate of Fulton High School in 1949 and was employed as a telephone operator with the Mid-State Telephone Company for 19 years. Carol attended the First United Church of Fulton and was a member of the Y.M.C.A. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, needlework and completing various types of puzzles.

FULTON – June 8, 2024, Mary Ann Ireland, 79; of Fulton, NY passed Saturday, June 8th, 2024 peacefully at her home with her family by her side. Mrs. Ireland was born in Staten Island, NY to the late Everett and Mary (Herald) Timm. She has been a resident of Fulton, NY for over 45 years. Mrs. Ireland was past employed with Oswego County BOCES where she worked as a Teaching Assistant. She was also self-employed having owned and operated Ireland Farms Nursery/Country Herbs & Flowers, Fulton, NY for over 20 years. She enjoyed gardening and knitting. She especially liked to be able to knit mittens which were donated to children in need.

2024 Oswego Paddlefest Registration Opened
The H. Lee White Maritime Museum has opened registration for this year’s Oswego Paddlefest. FULTON – June 7, 2024, Patricia Barnes Kerfien, 82, of Volney, passed away peacefully Friday, June 7, 2024 at home with her loving family by her side. Pat was born April 29, 1942 in Fulton to Kenneth and Erma Barnes and was a graduate of Mexico Academy in 1960. Pat was well known and highly respected for dedicating her time to the residents of the Town of Volney over the course of many years. She was the Court Clerk for the Town of Volney from 1993 until 1998 and the Volney Town Justice from 1999 until her retirement in 2016. She was a member and past treasurer of the Oswego County Magistrates Association, a member of the New York State Magistrates Association and in her free time enjoyed gardening.
