WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced $1,478,994.39 in federal funding for fire departments across New York State. The funding will be used to provide protective gear, training, and supplies to emergency personnel across sixteen fire departments. FULTON – July 12, 2024, Frank J. Maurer, 78; of Fulton, NY passed peacefully at St. Luke Health Service, Oswego, NY Friday, July 12th, 2024, after a long illness. Frank was born in Fulton, NY to the late John and Sophie (Sroka) Maurer. He remained a lifetime resident of Fulton, NY and during retirement enjoyed wintering in Florida for 2 decades. Mr. Maurer was retired from the Fulton Consolidated School System where he worked as a Teacher of Mathematics and Business. He was a past member of the Fulton Lions Club, the Fulton Polish Home, Cooperative Extension and the Fulton Teacher’s Association. He was a longtime communicant of St. Michael’s Church, Fulton. Frank successfully owned and operated Westview Orchards, Fulton. He enjoyed gardening, downhill skiing, and travelling. Frank was an avid fisherman and was accomplished in deep sea fishing and lake fishing. He would incorporate this passion into his travelling having fished waters in Alaska and Costa Rica and locally in Lake Ontario and Oneida.
