New Center for Mobility & Rehabilitation Opens at The Manor
OSWEGO – At Oswego Health WE CARE about helping you recover. We’re excited to share that we are opening a state-of-the-art rehabilitation therapy center for our residents at The Manor who require physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy before returning home. Those needing special attention following surgery, an accident, a stroke, a hip or knee replacement, or needing rehabilitation after a fall, will all benefit from our new Center for Mobility & Rehabilitation that promotes wellness and independence.

FULTON – Wayne E. Buske, 75, of Minetto, New York passed at his home on Sunday, March 10th, 2024. He was born in Oswego, New York to the late Carl and Agnes (Flint) Buske. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Buske (Ruggio), in 2021. Wayne has been a resident of Minetto most of his life and was the owner/operator of Buske Collision for over 47 years.

FULTON – March 8, 2024, Cory R. Meeker, 41, of Fulton passed away Thursday, March 8, 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was born November 1, 1982 in Oswego to Gerald J. and Dolores A. Meeker and was a graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School in 2001. Cory had been employed as a computer technician at Seneca Data in Syracuse, a machine operator at Birds Eye Foods and a driver for Empire Transport. He was a very intelligent, thought provoking and opinionated individual. Cory loved to talk and debate on all sorts of topics. He was a high-level gamer and content creator at various video games.

Farm to Table Program Plants Seeds Of Knowledge At Dennis M. Kenney Middle School
OSWEGO COUNTY – An agricultural enrichment program at Dennis M. Kenney Middle School is teaching students about the food they eat, thanks to the Farm to Table offering. Seventh and eighth graders work with Dr. Christine Lamont to plant seeds and grow various fruits, vegetables and herbs. They see the process through, from start to finish, by using simple science activities to investigate the origin and nutritional content of common foods. They also examine the structure and function of food crops, the impacts of fertilizers, light, and grazing on plant growth, along with the role of pollinators and bacteria in food production.

Rare Celestial Event on April 8 Expected to Attract Thousands of Visitors to New York State. New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Basil Seggos today provided valuable tips to help the public prepare to recreate safely and responsibly as New Yorkers count down the days to the highly anticipated total solar eclipse, which occurs exactly four weeks from today. While DEC law enforcement and operations staff will be prepared for visitors, eclipse watchers are encouraged to find Adirondack destinations outside the backcountry or opt for visiting one of the many designated viewing locations across the state. Monday, April 8, 2024, the roughly 100-mile-wide path of totality across Upstate New York will begin near Jamestown, Chautauqua County, at approximately 3:16 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time and exit near Plattsburgh, Clinton County, at approximately 3:29 p.m. Cities and towns within the path of totality also include Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Rochester, Syracuse, Watertown, Old Forge, and Lake Placid.

OSWEGO – March 10, 2024, James “Terry” McNulty, 68, of Oswego passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Oswego Hospital. Terry was born June 12, 1955 in Oswego to Edward “Chubby” McNulty and Libby L.V. Pearce McNulty. He was a graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School in 1974 and was employed at Black Clawson as a machinist. In 1985 Terry transitioned to work as a mechanic and machinist for Niagara Mohawk. He retired from National Grid as a lineman in March of 2018 due to a disability.
