35-year-old Oswego man charged with murder in 38-year-old woman’s death

OSWEGO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On July 13, the Oswego police were called to 30 West Schuyler Street for a welfare check on a woman who seemed to be unconscious.

When they arrived, Oswego firefighters told police the woman, later identified as 38-year-old Rachael Allen from Baldwinsville, was dead.

The Onondaga County Medical Examiner then did an autopsy on the woman and determined she was killed by blunt force trauma.

After an investigation, Oswego police arrested 35-year-old Ricky Colon from Oswego.

He is charged with:

• Murder in the second degree, a Class A felony
• Assault in the first degree, a Class B felony
• Criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a Class B felony
• Tampering with physical evidence, a Class E felony

Colon was arraigned at Oswego County CAP Court on July 14 and remanded to the Oswego County Jail without bail.
